Demand that Timeshare Companies change their Policies

You are caught up in the excitement of a great vacation. Now the company is offering you a chance to go on vacations at 5 star resorts. Just sign here & give us a down payment. Excitement is over, you now have time to sit & read through 50 pages of a contract you signed 30 days ago. You find that you are tied to this timeshare for the term of your life , not to mention if you went into this as a joint adventure YOU are the one they come to for the payments, maintenance fees & taxes. Company will not even take it back if it is paid in full & will sue you if you try to get out of the maintenance fees. Plus the time frame to cancel has passed 20 days ago.

I am concerned because we went in this timeshare contract with "Vacation village @ Bonaventure with our son-in-law. Yes, you can see where this is going .. we made all of the payments. Even though their names are on the contract not one statement was mailed to them only us. Yet we are not allowed to rent it out unless we have their signature on the forms. It has long been paid off & we can not get out of the contract. In the years of moving here & there with US Air Force the contract has been misplaced. We asked them for a copy of contract & they no longer have it on records.

I feel if you have paid for it i& no longer want it you should be able to give it back to them. People are beginning to realize what a scam timeshare companies are & you can't even give it away. They should not be able to hold you to something that you really do not OWN though you have paid for it. Make them stop taking advantage of hard working citizens. I have read through some complaints to BBB & not one response from the company is EVER thier fault. They are all hard pressure sales people.  Write to your Sentator!
