Have you ever had your favorite team, or any team your watching lose on a poor, mislead, or otherwise just missed call? I have had enough of seeing this, from a diving call gone unnoticed, a goalie being shoved into his net leading to a good goal.
We understand, referees have a tough job, they can't always make the right call, or any at all, but this doesn't mean we should just accept an obvious discrepancy.
This sport is for the fans, the fans run this machinery keeping the sport alive and the fans need to speak up and be heard.
Sign my petition and lets allow, at the least for now (perhaps more soon), 1 red challenge flag per game head coach.
We, the fans of the Nation Hockey League and it's affilliated sport, demand a fairer penalty system at the start of the 2016 season. We understand that referees cannot make all calls correctly, thereby we demand a challenge system be created allowing each team to possess a single red flag for call discrepencies in any areas including but not limited to: penalty calls, whether correct or not, goalie interference, goal verification, icings, and offside. All details shall be reviewed by the NHLs headquarters to make any necessary adjustments. Additional red flags can be considered, but a single flag is a desired, needed start to transforimg a broken system.
