Bring Porsche Back To The Gaming Masses!

We are on the horizon of a new installment of Forza Motorsport and the questions are coming out again, will Porsche come to the party? The answer to that seems like a definitive, probably not. The reason for this is Electronic Art's exclusive deal with Porsche and their little interest in sub-licenseing again (they've allowed one DLC pack in Forza Motorsport 4). According to IGN, they reached out to Porsche and EA for a statement on their long standing agreement, but both companies made no comment.

The way I see it, we, the gaming public, aren't the only losers in this, but so is Porsche. Right now the game with that has the newest and most up-to-date Porsches is Real Racing 3, a mobile racing game on iOS and Android. Porsche event went so far as to reveal their new Cayman GT4 in the game. Even with their exclusive deal, EA doesn't use Porsches as much as you'd imagine. The newest Need For Speed boasted less Porsches than it did other high-end performance manufacturers like Lamborghini and Ferrari. My question, and the question many car lovers and gamers have is, what is the point?  Both EA and Porsche are missing out on a lot of profit.

Porsche has become nearly invisible in the high-end gaming world, almost completely absent except for the DLC in Forza Motorsport 4 and the Need For Speed titles. There are no Porsches in Forza Horizon 2, The Crew, Forza Motorsport 5, Gran Turismo 6, Grid and Driveclub. The pain isn't only for the console players either, Porsches are missing from major PC simulation racers like iRacing, Assetto Corsa and the currently in development Project Cars (which is coming to consoles as well).

As a huge Porsche fan, a car lover and a gamer I want nothing more than to see us back in the drivers seat of some of the best and most iconic cars ever built. For a lot of us, this is as close as many of us will ever be to them. To try to achieve this goal I've created a petition online that will be presented to Electronic Arts (EA) and Porsche. Show your support, sign the petition and share it! Lets see what we can get done!
