UPA Government cleared forest areas equivalent to 3 large tiger reserves for industrial use!

In its 9 year tenure, the UPA Goevrnment has given clearance to cuta whopping 6 lakh hectares of forests,of which over 2.5 lakhs are allocated for mining. The area which has been massively deforested amounts to the total combined area of Delhi,Mumbai,Kolkata,Chennai and Bangalore! This is incredible!
The Goverment has only rejected the minor proposals of less than 14,000 hectares and has always nodded for big projects demanding forested areas of over 1 lakh hectares! Most rejected cases which have been publicised to create a good image of the government had less than 5 hectare proposals, while the Goverment has till date given consent to fell forests for major projects, leading to massive deforestation and loss of habitat of wild animals.Official records reveal that despite the Forest Rights Act,the government has cleared projects in several cases, violating their own laws by not even taking consent from the tribal gram sabha of the concerned forest!
One such poignant example raising alert is Iron Ore mining in Kudremukh in Karnataka which has ensured complete washing away of forest lands.
Protecting mother nature, her forests and wildlife is an urgent need of the hour and to enforce the laws is our moral responsibility. We cannot afford to let the Government, in disguise, deprive the earth of greenary, and animals of their habitat, destabilise our eco-sysytem and consequently lead to downfall of human community itself ! Please sign this petition to raise a voice against such wrong doing so that this secretly carried out massacre of nature is stopped!
