Stop construction of 152 Apartments adjacent to Croft Farms!

We respectfully request that the Haddonfield Town Committee to pass a resolution opposing the construction of 152 Apartments at the old Haddonfield Lumber site next to the Croft Farm nature trails and that the Cherry Hill Town Council and Zoning Board accept and not appeal the Superior Court's decision on whether the variances granted to this project were legally justified.  We respectfully request that Cherry Hill Township reaffirm it's decision to prohibit the construction of residential housing at this location as set forth in the Cherry Hill Master Plan and Zoning Ordinance.

Why is this important?

The construction of 152 Apartments at the old Lumber site adjacent to Croft Farms nature trails will have many detrimental effects on the trails, wildlife, and the people enjoying them.

-The added 300 plus automobiles and over 1,000 additional daily trips will worsen the already clogged intersection of Kresson and Brace Roads. This is a hazard for pedestrians, runners, or anyone traveling through the trails.

-An additional turning lane may become necessary, and this will be taken out of the trails.

-The proposal includes 335 parking spaces that will lead oil and motor fluids into the trails and eventually stormwater will carry this runoff into Evan's Pond.

-A mishap while upgrading the water and sewage system could pollute Evans Pond and cause permanent damage to the area.

There will be significantly more trash in the park from residents passing through.

-Light pollution from this high-density, over-height apartment complex will negatively impact wildlife, particularly birds and nocturnal species.

-There will be increased visual pollution as the building will tower over the trees and become part of the scenery.
