ALL UK SCHOOLS SHOULD BE VEGAN

Our children are the next generation, their health and well being should be the most important part of education. Teaching children how to eat more vegatables for the enviroment, animals, and their future.

What is Veganism.

Veganism is a type of vegetarian diet that excludes all animal-derived ingredients. Everone knows that vegetarians do not eat meat, fish, or poultry. Vegans, in addition to being vegetarian, do not use other animal products and by-products such as eggs, dairy products, honey, leather, fur, silk, wool, cosmetics, and soaps which have been tested on or derived from animals.

This lifestyle can be a pretty big commitment. Add up all of the dietary restrictions, and you have a nutritional plan that only the most committed people can sustain. It’s precisely these reasons that scare some people off of veganism altogether. The good news is you don’t have to become a full-fledged vegan to reap many of the benefits of the diet. In fact, there are a growing number of health benefits experts believe that simply eliminating meat and dairy for a few days a week can make you healthier, this is where school meals and education can help chidren reap some of these benefits.

Why add a Vegan Diet to School Meals.

Health.

One reason for cutting out animal-products in childrens diets is it makes more room for fruits and vegetables. The benefits of additional plant based food in their diet, includes improved nutrition, decreased obesity risk, better school performance, increases changes of higher mental well-being and boosts the immune system. Most school aged children don’t get the recommended five or more servings of fruits and vegetables a day due to lifestyle, income and lack of knowledge.
