"SCEC Supt. Paige McNulty Must Go Now!"

    *Our children's education and safety should be our top priority, and the many cuts to staff, without thorough examination, would be detrimental to the academic success and overall well-being of the students. Under Supt. McNulty's supervision, Human Resource personnel, Sally Clark, blatantly disregarded the School Board's governing authority and voting process, by drafting, signing, and/or disseminating correspondence designed to either intimidate, threaten, or fire SCEC staff/personnel, which constitutes sheer incompetence or utter disregard for the SCEC and Corporation chain of command.

    *East Chicago School Corporation receiving a status grade of "D" in 2016 as reported in the IndyStar is unacceptable, and demands immediate Board attention and intervention.

    *Supt. McNulty upon getting the green light from EPA, regarding Carrie Gosch Elementary School in the Calumet section of EC being safe enough for the student's return, appears to have been a deceptive tactic to sale the school building; thereby, violating the Board Policy 7300. Though it is stipulated in this policy that "the Board shall direct the periodic review of all Corporation property and authorize the disposition by sale, donation, trade, or discard of any property not required for school purposes," We, the tax payers, citizens, and residents were not privy to the following conclusion of the policy, "All written offers on real property under consideration for disposition shall be presented as an item on the agenda of a PUBLIC school board meeting."

    1) Upon the upcoming performance evaluation of Supt. Paige McNulty, and pursuant to Board Policy 3220 as required by I.C. 20-28-11-50-4, We, the undersigned tax payers, citizens, and residents of East Chicago submit this petition of concern calling on the SCEC Board to honor our DEMAND for the complete firing, removal, and elimination of authority and power vested in and entrusted to Supt. Paige McNulty from the School City of East Chicago and School Corporation in its entirety;

    2) We, the tax payers, citizens, and residents of East Chicago call on the SCEC Board to exercise its same executive power to remove any superintendent who fails to enforce the statutes of the State of Indiana, administrative guidelines of the State School Board, and the policies of this Board, as cited in Board Policy 0132.1 - Selection of Superintendent;

    3) We, the undersigned tax payers, citizens, and residents of East Chicago call on the SCEC Board to remove Supt. Paige McNulty from all duties, responsibilities, powers, and authority as Superintendent of SCEC and as Chief Executive Officer of the Corporation through firing, as result of her failure to adhere to ethical, procedural due process (Board Policy 0100) in her willful neglect and unlawful handling of the Safe School Committee operations (Board Policy 8400) regarding a well-known incident of blatant school bullying, and her personal verbal abuse and degradation toward a parent/EC resident, while on and utilizing School property (Board Policy 5517.01). Thereby, lending way to her disregard and violation of statute I.C. 5-2-10.1, 20-33-8-0.2, which shall result in another financial burden to the SCEC, the School Corporation, and the tax payers;

    4) We, the tax payers, citizens, and residents of East Chicago call on the Board to earnestly assess and determine the true success of Supt. McNulty in meeting the goals set for the by the Board, objectively;

    5) Finally, We, the tax payers, citizens, and residents of East Chicago call on the SCEC Board to remove the undue strain between the School Board and community of residents, as well as restore and maintain the dignity/sanctity of the Board - Superintendent Relation as cited in Board Policy By so doing, the parent-student-teacher morale will be given a fighting chance for restoration.

    Education is more than just academia, it's conducive environment is the key element to the vitality of character building morale among students, teachers, staff, and community. Supt. McNulty's aggrandizement at the expense of our children's education, safety, and well-being, is unacceptable, and will no longer be tolerated.
