Prohibit large vacation rental buildings in residential neighborhoods in South Lake Tahoe.

Residents and small cabin owners of South Lake Tahoe, California should support this petition so that the neighborhoods are not overrun by corporate ventures that build gigantic commercial buildings that are not in character with the existing homes and cabins, causing privacy issues, safety issues, parking issues, and disturbance of the peace. These "Mega Homes" are being used not for single family residential use, but to provide basically a party house. TRPA and the City of South Lake Tahoe have changed the ordinances, now a "single family residence' is anything up to 6,000 feet in a residential neighborhood.  We need to demand they restrict these Mega Homes from established residential areas TRPA, Tahoe Regional Planning Agency, and the City of South Lake Tahoe have unjust laws and have been changing ordinances in order to benefit wealthy developers and corporations.   TRPA is also allowing the transfer of property square footage from property sales, even in another state.  This extra square footage is tacked on to already exceedingly large building plans on property in South Lake Tahoe.  How can this be legal?  I urge you to help change these unjust building and permitting practices.

Mega Homes that are not incharacter with existing single family homes have been allowed to be built In residential areas of South Lake Tahoe, California and have become a problem for citizens due to the commercial business of vacation home rentals (VHR) and the noise, traffic, parking and safety issues these bring.   Corporations have been allowed to infiltrate the neighborhoods by the unscrupulous building planning and permitting office run by the City of South Lake Tahoe, and by TRPA.

We, the undersigned, are concerned citizens who urge our leaders to act now to ban the Mega Home structures from our quiet, established residentail neighborhoods, and ban corporations from being allowed to purchase lots for the very purpose of these Mega Home VHR buildings.
