The Bolton Fence, what has ruined so many businesses in the Bolton Shopping Centre. This fence has caused so much inconvenience for business owners and shoppers. After the northern plaza with Dollarama, Harvey’s, Chez Thrift and such was bought by a new owner, he decided he would like to buy the southern plaza. After the owner denied, he pulled quite the “Grinch” move of erecting the fence to attempt to run the businesses dry, right before Christmas.
What has this fence done? Well, it has made it very difficult for firefighters to get into the plazas, causing fire safety issues. It has made it very difficult for the businesses in the area to keep afloat, and it has inconvenienced a whole lot of Bolton citizens. The new owner has caused so much inconvenience just to try and buy out the southern plaza.
The Bolton Fence has caused so much trouble throughout the last 6 months, and we should try and show that we don’t want it here. Signing the petition shows the city that no one likes the fence.
