Save the Amur Forest Cat

The Amur leopard cat (Latin Prionailurus bengalensis euptilurus) - subspecies of the Bengal cat.

Slightly larger than a domestic cat. The length of its body 75-90 cm, tail - 35-37 cm, weight 6.4 kg. The basic coloring of wool top side light grayish-yellow or dull grayish-brown with scattered rounded dark red spots.

Distributed in the Far East, in the basin of the Amur River and the Sea of ??Japan. Near Lake Hanka (lake) cat met throughout the habitable area. It lives in Bolshekhekhtsirsky, Khankaisky, Ussuri, Cedar Pad, Lazo reserves.

It feeds on mice, voles, squirrels, birds, and occasionally attacks the young hares and deer. Mating takes place in March. Pregnancy lasts 65-70 days, the cat brings to four kittens in education which takes part and the male. Life Expectancy - 17-18 years.

Rare subspecies, is quite rare, listed in the Red Book of Primorye.
