REOPEN ELMERS ISLAND FOR VEHICULAR BEACH ACCESS

The Caminada Headlands project built a 13 mile dune from Port Fourchon to Caminada Pass. After completion of project, vehicles are no longer allowed to drive on the beach. The distance from the parking area to the beach makes it prohibitive for most people to transport fishing equipment and supplies to areas of good fishing.
