SAVE our Dog Park

JeffCo Open Space held two meetings asking for input on public health and environmental challenges at the Elk Meadow Off Leash Dog Park. We feel they misled the community and the decision to close our dog park had already been made. As residents, taxpayers, and lovers of the dog park, we demand that our voices be heard and that we be included in the search for solutions and decisions regarding our dog park. We are committed to environmentally friendly and sustainable solutions that address current concerns.

Jefferson County is NOW preparing to close the ENTIRE dog park April 4 w/o considering reasonable and affordable solutions. We have a “best practices” plan ready to safely and sustainably manage the park. Please sign our new petition http://friendsofevergreendogpark.org/sign-our-petition/ requesting reconsideration of our plan & for detailed updates. Please join us for our #barkback Rally, Sat April 1st 2:00 for a purposeful stroll with your dog. Meet at RTD Bergan Park-n-Ride lot in Evergreen!

We were heard! Not everything we wanted but 2 fenced areas of the Elk Meadow Off Leash Dog Park will remain open. A non-profit group is being formed to work with JCOS to manage it. Hopefully with successful management, we can grow the park to a larger space over time. In the spirit of collaboration, we are cancelling our Rally/Protest on Thursday at 5:00 p.m. Thank you all for your support. It made a difference.
