On top of all that many places automatically charge you the gratuity tips which is just rude and has caused many people to stop eating out or finding other places to go or just stay home, which in turn creates a down fall in the economy.
A person receiving a tip for being helpful does not effect the economy except for increasing their own spending power and boosting the economy.
