Plastic bottles, bags, and other plastic is very harmful to the environment. You should sign this petition because plastic may start in your garbage, but it most likely ends up in the ocean, seas, forests, woods, and other places in nature. Many animals mistake plastic for food and swallow it. Many birds that live near the sea have died, and when cut open you could find 10-30 pieces of plastic in their stomach. Also, many aquatic life has gotten tangled up in fishing net, or choked to death by soda rings. Over 1 trillion plastic bags are used every year worldwide. Approximately, 32 tons of plastic are waste each year which is 12.7% of total human solid waste. Americans use and throw out 100 billion plastic bags a year. Out of this, only between .3% and .5% of plastic bags are actually recycled. This is horrible!!! And we, the generation of the future need to put a foot down and put a stop to plastic pollution
