Strengthen Animal Cruelty Laws in New York!

New York lawmakers are pushing an anti-cruelty bill following the fatal shooting of two dogs during an alleged burglary attempt.

"Kirby & Quigley's Law," which passed in the Senate in late February, would make animal cruelty a felony punishable by up to two years in jail if it occurs while committing another felony.

Pets are more than just property to most people. They are part of their family. Harming pets can cause far more emotional distress to owners than the consequences of a burglary or any other crime.

People who abuse animals must receive a punishment that fits their actions. Please sign the petition to urge the New York State Assembly to pass Kirby & Quigley's law!

I am writing in support of an anti-cruelty bill that would increase penalties for animal abusers in the state of New York.

"Kirby & Quigley's Law," which passed in the Senate in late February, would make animal cruelty a felony punishable by up to two years in jail if it occurs while committing another felony.

People who abuse animals must receive a punishment that fits their actions. I respectfully urge you to pass Kirby & Quigley's law. Thank you for taking the time to read and consider this petition.
