Stop Canadian Wolf Slaughter

  • by: Animal Advocates
  • recipient: Canadian Prime Minister Stephen Harper, Premier of British Columbia, BC Ministry of Forests, Lands and Natural Resource Operations

The government has been killing wolves since 2001 in an attempt to recover endangered mountain caribou populations while knowing full well govenment environmental habitat destruction of the caribou is the main cause of the caribou's decline.

Tar sands, pipelines and over logging forests undermine caribou recovery- not wolves. Wolves actually help keep the caribou population healthy by choosing the sick and infirm as prey.

The draft wolf plan admits that "wolf densities have been reduced, however at this time, a correlation between reduced wolf densities and caribou recovery cannot be substantiated.”

We ask the Canadian government stop the wolf slaughter and base their decisions on sound, scientific evidence.
