On a day like 9/11, where we should be remembering our loved ones whose lives were taken from us, Ashley Heil was posting racist tweets on Twitter about Martin Luther King Jr.
I'm a Media Coordinator for a non-profit organization in Washington, D.C.and one thing I'm on all day is the computer, especially social media sites like Twitter and Facebook. I logged in to Facebook, on the morning of September 12, 2012, and saw one of my friends status updates that stuck out to me. Well, instead of it reading, "Good morning FB",as it normally reads. It said:
#WOW....Racism is still very current and then to say God Bless is this crazy or not!!!!
I couldn't believe what I was reading! I found myself outraged. Not just at the fact that she is spewing hateful and belligerent remarks, but the fact that Twitter allowed this to go on after I reported the abuse. Now her followers are growing and so is the HATE!
I'm asking that her account be deleted from Twitter indefinetly, not just for myself, but for the people that she insulted as well. I'm also asking people to
Report Abuse on Twitter by Ashley Heil. One of the reasons I use Twitter is to communicate quick and easily with our members but unfortunately, Twitter will not be the means for that any longer. Please sign this petition and/or report Ashley Heil to delete her Twitter account.
