Florida Law, Futch Act 1925, files 71-23 thru 71-33

We would like to recommend upholding the Law of 1925 as written.  And, additional legistation be enacted to define shoreline reclamation/restoration, by planting native Florida aquatic plants as an improvement to Lake Harris.  This would have a postitive effect in soil/beach erosion, removing impurities from the lake waters, and providing a healthly fish and native wildlife habitat. 


One of our greatest resources are our many lakes.  Yet high levels of bacteria in Lakes Griffin,Harris and Little Lake Harris are partly to blame in th elack of aquatic vegetation.  To have a positive effect on our shoreline, beaches, fishes and wildlife it is imperative that we take a stand to protect and restore our lakes.
