Legalize Medical Marijuana in Arkansas

  • by: Brandi May

The legalization of marijuana is happening all over the country for medical and recreational purposes. Studies prove that the use of marijuana for medical purposes is not only highly beneficial but can in some cases cure a long list of diseases and other conditions including lupus, cancer, and epilepsy. We as Americans and tax paying citizens of Arkansas have a right to medical care and options that benefit us.

The legalization of marijuana is happening all over the world right now for medical and recreational use. Both Colorado and Washington state has shown an increase in revenue and decrease in arrests since the legalization there. Studies have proven that the use of medical marijuana has an abundance of benefits in many conditions and diseases. It has been shown to shrink and at times completely cure certain types of cancers. It is more helpful in pain reduction in patients with lupus, arthritis and other chronic pain conditions than opiates and has little to no side effects. In the US alone a person dies from opiate overdose every 19 minutes. No one has ever died from marijuana use. The use of marijuana also helps relieve seizures in epileptic patients, lowers A1C and blood sugar in patients with diabetes. There has never been any proven study showing that marijuana is in any way harmful to people who use it. It is time for all Arkansas and the United States as a hole to put away their misconceptions of this powerful and highly beneficial plant and allow everyone who needs it the option to use it without fear of persecution. Please stand with me to get passed a law that will make it legal to use and have marijuana at least for medical use in Arkansas
