Coloma drive the street that sidewalks forgot

Coloma drive SE is a beautiful street with people of all kinds. Wealthy, poor, elderly, children, and all in between. The street only has one problem, there is no sidewalk. Now when I said children, I wasn't kidding. There are so many young children, and teenagers to the point where no sidewalks is a major safety hazard. Hi, I'm Chloe tew and I have lived on the street coloma drive for three years, and every time I have gone outside whether it be coming home from school, taking my dog for a walk or just getting a breath of fresh air I have had to to further and further into the road, even when I was just a child. And so do other children even younger than I. Because our gravel and dirt pathway is not recognized as a sidewalk cars can park as close to the street as they please, very often parking as close as possible. I have met the children on my street and my block which also has no sidewalk and it would break my heart if a car happened to not see them and accidentally hit them. It is too much of a risk with how people drive nowadays and the city of Salem is risking our children's lives for them to be simply lazy. It can also be a minor safety hazard for our pets. I have often had to pick splinters out of mine and my dog's feet and paws and at least once a very hot rock on a hot summer day. Frequently my dog has chosen far in the street instead of facing the gravel ahead, which, as a caring dog owner, I'm not very fond of. Also, as a street with even one house, a sidewalk is simply a necessity. It is the passerbys place, with a sidewalk I would no longer have to pull my dog back into a bush to make sure she doesn't get hit by a up and coming car. The cars now on the pathway can be parked in the driveways of which there is plenty of room. And just blatantly there needs to be a sidewalk, as passerbys need to feel safe and just need our own space. What I want to become of this petition is I want you to sign it to help me keep my beloved street safe and help the city of Salem recognize this and do something about it. Thank you for your time and please sign.
