For those of you in the City of Ponder and surrounding subdivisions, please sign this petition to let our city council know the urgent need for a tornado siren that all can HEAR in the event of a tornado!
Let's not wait for a tragedy to occur before we take steps in advance to warn the community of an eminent threat.
With the increasingly unpredictable weather that has been occurring over the last 3 to 4 years, it is becoming more and more apparent that we must act.
From the devastation in the wake of the EF-3 tornado in Van Zandt county on April 29th, 2015 that killed 5 to the EF-4 tornado that struck Garland on Dec. 26, 2015 that caused 11 deaths and millions of dollars in property damage, to this Springs tornado outbreak on April 29th, 2017 that spawned 9 tornados ranging from EF-0 to EF-4 that devastated Eustace, Canton, Grand Saline and Emory which occurred over a three hour period.
Let's take the steps today to protect our families and our city to warn them of an eminent threat before it happens……because the next major storm season may not be as kind to us.
