Move Forward With Harsher Animal Cruelty Punishments & Stop the Abuse in Massachusetts

Crime in our society has gotten so way over the edge, endangering our lives.  Such violations make most of us feel victimized without real protection.  Laws help in safeguarding human life but when it comes to animals, their safety is questionable. Many look at animals as objects and not the living beings that they are.  Laws against animal crimes need to be more stringent in protecting these lives.

Many states have made efforts in implementing harsher charges and penalties, but often with stipulations.  Some animal cruelty crimes receive felony charges while others are only menial charges of a misdemeanor.  Such is the case in Massachusetts. Read http://www.straypetadvocacy.org/PDF/AnimalCrueltyLaws.pdf & https://www.mspca.org/news/massachusetts-legislature-stiffens-penalties-for-animal-cruelty/. With the passage of a new Senate Bill 2345, Massachusetts has made attempts in stopping animal abuse but harsher charges and penalties need to be securely in practice to be effective.

The effort in this petition is to urge the Massachusetts State Legislators to do more to ensure that any and all crimes of animal abuse, cruelty and neglect receive harsh felony charges with more severe penalties that may entail longer jail sentences, higher fees, possibly acts of community service hours and also being placed on an animal cruelty registry to be shared nationwide with anyone within the animal field such as sales, care, breeding and treatment. Additionally, such abusers need to be banned for lifetime working with, caring for or owning animals for the rest of their life. There shouldn’t be any second chances because it should be common knowledge that abusing an animal, just like abusing a human is wrong and unjust. You can help with this endeavor by signing and sharing this petition on all social media, adding your own ideas and comments on the protection of animals.

Massachusetts State Legislators – It is highly commendable that you are taking some steps in protecting animals through your new Senate Bill 2345.  I strongly urge you to take a more serious step in that direction and do more to ensure that any and all crimes of animal abuse, cruelty and neglect receive harsh felony charges with more severe penalties that may entail longer jail sentences, higher fees, possibly acts of community service hours and also being placed on an animal cruelty registry to be shared nationwide with anyone within the animal field such as sales, care, breeding and treatment. Additionally, such abusers need to be banned for lifetime working with, caring for or owning animals for the rest of their life. There shouldn’t be any second chances because it should be common knowledge that abusing an animal, just like abusing a human is wrong and unjust. Strict measurements need to be taken and fully enforced in order to put an end to such animal cruelty. There is never an excuse for harming an animal and anyone who does needs to be held accountable for any actions against these living creatures.
