This Kennel Owner Kept 55 Animals Locked in Sickness-Inducing Squalor

Fifty-five animals were kept in horrid conditions at a kennel in Connecticut, to the point where authorities had to intervene and rescue the animals.

Apparently, the woman who owned the business and home where it was located not only operated a dog kennel, but also bred dogs for sale in her own home. Neighbors became alarmed when they heard the dogs crying out, leading officials to finally investigate.

Suspiciously, though, the homeowner refused to let animal control investigators inspect the premises multiple times over the course of five months.

Her kennel business license allowed her to keep up to 30 adult dogs at the home, but authorities found far more than that crammed onto the property.

On top of that, there was significant evidence of neglect and mistreatment. Poop, urine, dirt, grime, and trash had accumulated around the premises, leaving the dogs in dangerously unsanitary conditions. There wasn't even sufficient food or water for the animals.

This led some of the animals to develop serious medical complications. One dog was so ill from living at the kennels, veterinarians had to euthanize it.

Since then, authorities have confiscated 43 dogs, 1 rooster, and 11 hens, all of which were taken to veterinary experts for medical evaluations. They have charged the kennel owner with 55 counts of animal cruelty.

But one thing is sure: she should never be allowed to run a kennel or work with animals again! This kennel must also be shut down immediately, and its license revoked. Sign the petition now!
