Please sign this petition to stop trophy hunting white buffalo in Texas! There is only about 50 white buffalo alive today, and the Endangered Species Protection Program is unable to protect them because they are rare, White Buffalos have a rare morphed gene, that makes them white so therefore they cannot be classified as endangered. In many Native American tribes the White Buffalo is sacred, to see one is considered in their culture, like a second coming of Christ. They cherish this animal greatly. When one was born in Texas thousands joined to celebrate! Yet ranchers like "The Texas Hunt Lodge" allows White Buffalos to be hunted and killed, they trap them, with no means of escape, while most of these animals are used to humans they don't fear men making it an easy kill. We are asking you, please do not allow the sacred White Buffalo to be hunted in Texas. There is only about 50 White Buffalo (Bison) alive today, They are rare and need protection from trophy hunters! There are no seasonal restrictions on hunting the White Buffalo, or White Bison, in Texas, which makes it possible to hunt year round. I am asking you to prohibit the hunting of White Buffalo in Texas! The White Buffalo in Native American culture is considered to be "the most sacred living thing you could ever encounter," as was quoted by esteemed Lakota spiritual leader John Lame Deer. It is considered to be a very special sign to the world to begin mending life's sacred hoop, especially our connection with one another and with our planet, Earth,. The sacredness of the white buffalo is linked to the story of White Buffalo Calf Woman, a Lakota prophet who brought the Lakota the Seven Sacred Rituals. Oglala Sioux spiritual leader Floyd Looks for Buffalo Hand, a grandson of Red Cloud, is quoted as saying "The arrival of the white buffalo is like the second coming of Christ. It will bring about purity of mind, body, and spirit and unify all nations black, red, yellow, and white."
