If you represent the student body, faculty, or staff at Murray State University and feel that fall/spring breaks should be a week long instead of two days, you should sign this petition. A week of fall/spring break would give you the opportunity to catch up on assignments, proper planning of family vacations, a chance to get much needed rest, faculty could catch up on grading assignments, focus on planning and also take a break from the classroom, and also students have the opportunity to ask professors about assignments and papers that are due after break. Any annual training (sexual Harassment, sexual abuse, domestic violence, student surveys) could be adminstered during these periods so that this training does not conflict with necessary syllabus requirements and assignments. Last, janitors and maintenance personnel can take a proactive approach and plan projects that need to be replaced or repaired within a time frame that works with everyones schedule.
