Deny Parole To Cheryl Driskell (W014144) and Dale Slusher (A159114)

On the night, April 15, 1980, appellant (James Ashurst) and Johnny Miller, the victim, met in a neighborhood bar. While at the bar the victim received a phone call from Cheryl Driskell, after talking with the victim, Cheryl asked to talk to appellant (James Ashurst) and asked him to wait at the bar until she arrived. Cheryl arrived at the bar a little later with Dale Slusher. All four of these persons left the bar together and went driving around drinking. They finally parked on a dead end street in Clermont County. There, the victim was yanked from the car, slashed and stabbed with a knife, and beaten to death with a crowbar. It appears that Dale Slusher, Cheryl Driskell and the appellant (James Ashurst) all participated in the killing which was motivated by a grudge they all had against the victim." - As written by David Hoffmann, Assistant Prosecuting Attorney.

Those three were so called "friends" of Johnny's. He was only 18 when they took his life. Johnny was taken out to Old Ohio 126, about one mile from Miamiville Tavern in Miamiville, Ohio. His three "friends" then repeatedly stabbed him, shot him with a pellet gun and beat him in the head with a tire iron. The Enquirer writes, "It was a very brutal murder." All three were convicted of Aggravated Murder, with a life sentence, but are still eligible for parole.

Johnny Miller also had a son, whom he never got to meet or watch grow up. Johnny never got the chance to be a father to his child and start his own family, before his life was taken.

James Ashurst was released on parole in 2006 for a medical condition. He was an illegal immigrant in the states when the crime was committed, so as soon as he was released he was deported back to England. He is no longer able to obtain a Visa.

In July 2014 we received the news that Dale Slusher and Cheryl Driskell were denied parole for three more years! They will be up for parole again in April of 2017.

I am asking for your support in helping my family to keep Cheryl Driskell and Dale Slusher, the remaining convicted murderers, where they belong. To also keep you and your family safe from allowing these criminals back on our streets.

We thank you for your support and fighting with us!

To the Ohio Parole Board:

We request that you deny prisoner Cheryl Ann Driskell, Offender # W014144 parole. Also, deny prisoner Dale Lynn Slusher, Offender # A159114 parole.

We also request for them to not be eligible for parole again until the maximum allowed time in between hearings is met!

Both offenders were convicted and sentenced to a LIFE SENTENCE!

Under no circumstances do we believe they are ready for parole and we respectfully ask that they remain incarcerated at this time.
