Weston village - save it from housing development 2013

Weston village, to me, is home. It is where I brought my family to live. We moved from the town searching for a better quality of life, both in the people, the landscape and ecology, the culture, and space available to explore. In some cruel twist, I was notified by Cheshire east council that all the land surrounding the village of Weston has come under consultancy from the Duchess of Lancaster (The Queen of England), and private land owners in the interest of property development and development of an industrial area, that is 5000+ new homes. Both my family and the people who live in Weston, right now our way of living is under threat. I would say that to me it worth protecting and saving.

There is a push all across the UK to sell off land to development in order to boost the economy.  Specifically to Weston this action only serves to line the pockets of the landowners of these estates.

Already actions towards development have started. The village has some beautiful old buildings, which are owned by the Duchess of Lancaster, tenants have been given notice to move out. We have just until 30th May to object to the land consultancy.

It’s important to save Weston.

My children can play out all day in the streets in general safety, they can walk through ash, oak, Cherry, birch woods and coppices, and blue bell woods, they can walk to school, they can use and look after, and share the large ecology that persists here. They are better for it. There is little noise, little social problems, clean streets, clean air, light traffic, little or no light pollution Weston is a modest agricultural area divided my woods  and centered around a beautiful village. I have a lot of friends here…and I have never taken it for granted…I’m lucky.

All I ask is for you to register an objection against the plans doing so will support the people who live here, it may go a long way to preserve what we have. Thank you.
