Demand Renewable Energy in New South Wales

New South Wales has all the advantages of advanced technology and a wealthy tax  base. So why is it the worst state in Australia for renewable energy? According to a recent Climate Council report, New South Wales has failed to keep pace with renewable energy trends and is falling even further behind.

NSW Premier Mike Baird is on record as wanting to do better. He has promised to make his state as renewable friendly as California. But, so far, he has not fulfilled those promises. And renewable energy matters because it is the world's best defense against the ravages of climate chaos, devastating storms, rising sea levels, and species extinction. One problem seems to be that the Baird government has not issued definite guidelines for creating wind farms. Governments have a great deal of power to encourage wind energy development through tax breaks and other subsidies. This needs to happen in Australia. Please join me in asking the Baird government to finalize guidelines for wind farms to encourage investment in wind energy.

Dear Mr. Baird:

It is shocking to learn that New South Wales is so far behind in the development of renewable energy. I'm sure you know how important wind and solar energies are. They have the best potential to save the planet from the ravages of climate change. Without change, we are looking at insupportable temperatures, epic floods, and terrible loss of life across all species. Please take decisive action to finalize guidelines for wind farms to encourage investment in wind energy.
