In March 2018, the world said goodbye to the great and renowned theoretical physicist, cosmologist, and author, Stephen Hawking.
Not only was Mr. Hawking a force to be reckoned with by his peers, he also brought the science closer the common man via numerous TV programmes.
As a fitting tribute, we petition the city council of Brussels for the street currently named Avenue Bouchout, which is the location of the Brussels Planetarium and leads all the way to the Atomium, to be renamed as the Avenue Stephen Hawking.

En Mars 2018, le monde a fait ses adieux au physicien théoricien, cosmologiste et auteur, Stephen Hawking.
Non seulement M. Hawking était un grand homme reconnu et apprécié de ses pairs, mais il a également vulgarisé la science au moyen de nombreuses émissions télévisées.
Comme un hommage approprié, nous adressons une pétition au conseil municipal de Bruxelles pour que la rue actuellement nommée Avenue Bouchout, où se trouve le Planétarium de Bruxelles et qui mène à l'Atomium, soit rebaptisé Avenue Stephen Hawking.

In Maart 2018 nam de wereld afscheid van de grote en gerenommeerde theoretisch natuurkundige, kosmoloog en auteur, Stephen Hawking.
Niet alleen was Mr. Hawking een kracht waarmee rekening moest worden gehouden door zijn collega's, hij bracht de wetenschap ook dichter bij de gewone man via talloze tv-programma's.
Als een passend eerbetoon vragen we de gemeenteraad van Brussel om de straat die momenteel de Boechoutlaan heet, de locatie van het Brussels Planetarium en die helemaal tot aan het Atomium loopt, om te dopen tot de Stephen Hawking-laan.
