Landlords and apartment complexes

I have a job that pays every 2 weeks and have been trying to get on my feet. I have been looking for a place to live since christmas and here it is JULY these apartment complexes want you to pay first months rent plus a deposit . They also charge application fees and background check fees. I make around 700 dollars every 2 weeks and have to live from paycheck to paycheck . To move in somewhere you have to come up with a little over 1200 dollars to move in some where . I. have been living in motel rooms because they dont charge a deposit. Some of these places will not even work with you on a deposit. I think that this is unfair, even though the monthly rent I can afford they just make it impossible for the average minimum wage person to move into a place because of all the money you need just to move in them. There are alot of people just like me that are having trouble finding a place to live because they cant afford the move in cost. I think that all apartment complexes should lower their deposits and make it more affordable to move in somewhere. And what is the deal with the application fees. That doesnt make any since to me . Why should we have to pay to fill out an application for their  apartments ? I do understand the background checks because of potential criminals, but this is ridiculous . I think that the deposits should be broken down into installments until its paid and that these complexes should do away with the application fees all together that would help make apartments more affordable for working minimum wage people who are unable to pay all that money at once. Please help make this happen. Thank You
