Save the Belmont Municipal Parking Lot!

The Belmont Business Improvement District is petitioning the City of New York to transfer ownership of the Belmont Municipal Lot to our 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization.

The unattended, metered facility is located as 2356 Hoffman Street, and is vital to the survival of our business district, often referred to as Bronx Little Italy, or Arthur Avenue. 85% of restaurant patrons come from over five miles away, and due to the fact that the area is located in a public transportation desert, our patrons are arriving by car. The metered street parking doesn't have the capacity for the thousands of visitors the neighborhood attracts daily.

Under our ownership, we will ensure the use of the space remains a parking facility, something the City will not do. We hope to be able to increase the capacity of the lot by implementing a valet system or having car racks installed.

Sign the petition today and help us ensure our patrons from near and far do not have to worry about parking their car when they come to visit! Help keep the "real" Little Italy and our authentic business district thriving for generations to come.
