End Puppy Mills Throughout U.S.

Puppy Mills. Those two words have hurt thousands of innocent lives. Both emmotionally and physically. What exactly is a puppy mill, you ask? You're about to find out.
Below is a good description I found on the internet of a ''puppy mill'':

  • A dirty, trashy place where one or several breeds of dogs are kept in deplorable conditions with little or no medical care and puppies are always available?
  • Any high-volume kennel?
  • A clean place where several breeds of dogs are raised in adequate conditions and the breeder usually or always has puppies for sale?
  • A place where a single breed of dog is raised in acceptable conditions and puppies are usually or often available?
  • A place where lots of dogs are raised, where breeding is done solely for financial gain rather than protection of breed integrity, and where puppies are sold to brokers or to pet stores?

So in other words, a place where a female dog is confined in a small cage, forced to produce litter after litter of puppies, until she is to old to continue reproduction. Then she may be killed or sold to a labrotory for research. And if that upsets you, then it should be enough to get you to sign. Otherwise, lets hear what happens to the puppies.

The puppies are kept in horrible conditions which are highly unsanitary and are very dirty. The cages are so small that if two dogs got in to a fight, the other dogs may be in danger of injuries also.

Puppy mill dogs may often have problems and/or diseases such as:

  • Epilepsy
  • Heart disease
  • Kidney disease
  • Musculoskeletal disorders (hip dysplasia, luxating patellas, etc.)
  • Endocrine disorders (diabetes, hyperthyroidism)
  • Blood disorders (anemia, Von Willebrand disease)
  • Deafness
  • Eye problems (cataracts, glaucoma, progressive retinal atrophy, etc.)
  • Respiratory disorders
  • Giardia
  • Parvovirus
  • Distemper
  • Upper respiratory infections
  • Kennel cough
  • Pneumonia
  • Mange
  • Fleas
  • Ticks
  • Intestinal parasites
  • Heartworm
  • Chronic diarrhea

If you sign this we might be able to convince pet stores not to sell puppy-mill-puppies! So please, for the sake of innocent dogs and owners alike, sign this petition.

We the undersigned wish to ban puppy mills by simply not having anyone buy from them. Please understand our  logic. Tell me, what did those innocent dogs ever do to you? You're a PET STORE, not a ROBOTIC TOY STORE!!!! Please listen. This is the opinion of the public, not necessarily just ours. We hope you understand and will co-operate with us.
