A Company is seeking to acquire Haywards Heath Golf Club, established in 1922, to build up to 1000 houses. It is appreciated, to meet Government requirements, additional houses are required in Mid-Sussex. However, it is contented that these should not be built over a valuable and long established sports facility. It is also argued that such a large scale single development will increase the demand on local services, which are already under strain. Housing requirements should be met by smaller developments on brown field and vacant sites located throughout Mid-Sussex.
