“Punish the owner, not the animal”

On September 24, 2014 the dog that was taken on a walk without his leash by its irresponsible owner who knew that
it was an agressive dog, approaching little Balzac from behind, attacked in an instant and killed him in the most
horrible way at the scene. Balzac, having his daily walk was leashed. The dog broke Balzac’s back and ripped his
internal organs.

Neither the dog’s owner nor Balzac’s owner, could not stop the large breed of dog that attacked with a desire to kill.
Balzac’s owner is still undergoing psychiatric treatment for the trauma it had induced on her. The event is
corroborated with veterinary report, psychiatric evaluation report and eyewitnesses.
Since that day, many other cats and dogs are injured or murdered by dogs unfortunate and inculpable, for they were
brought up by bad people that fail to control (or choose to not bother) the dogs that they must be accountable for.
Especially vulnerable and defenseless children have been the victims of such people’s conduct. How many of us
could forget the boy in the hospital who had lost his ear? What about the guy attempting a smile despite his
stitches?

Dogs are a reflection of their owner and for all the harm they inflict, they are not
responsible, meaning PEOPLE ARE LIABLE.

We would like the verdict of Balzac’s case, that will be held on April 7th, 2016 at the Kartal Courthouse, to be a
deterrent against those people whose actions can lead to such injuries and killings. We want the law to recognize
animals as BEINGS and not property. And we want the maximum punishment for ill-intentioned people.
