DOWN WITH DIVERGENT SERIES: ASCENDANT

Veronica Roth's creation of the Divergent trilogy led many young'ns and adults alike on an action-packed journey alongside main character Tris Prior as she battled her way to survival of dystopian Chicago.

A few months after the third book of the series, Allegiant, had been published, Lionsgate released their first movie of the series, Divergent. It was a solid OK. A year later, Insurgent (the second of the trilogy) was released, and it was also just pretty OK. Of course they added in their own twists to the plot, but at least they were decent. Another year later (2016) Allegiant rolls around only to CRASH AND BURN. Um, why the HELL didn't Tris die the honourable death she had finally earned like in the novel?! This change single-handedly trashed the entire build up, the foreshadowment, the BRILLIANCE of the plot of both the novels and the movies. But wait, theres more! It wasn't even the last movie. Everyone knows about the whole split-the-last-book-of-every-series-into-two-movies trend, but the whole point of it is to ACTUALLY split the last book into two parts in order to cover and wrap up the story in a nice and tidy manner. The Allegiant movie covers everything from the last book (excluding Tris's death). . . WHAT
THE HELL MORE COULD THEY POSSIBLY TACK ON? BUT WAIT! There's even more!! The second movie of Allegiant, called Ascendant, will be aired ON TELEVISION. Apparently, the actors didn't even know of the plan until asked by interviewers. IT IS SPECULATED MOST OF THEM WON'T EVEN BE CAST IN IT.

So to summarize, we need to do something about this. We need to destroy this mess before it gets any uglier. The surprise ending of Allegiant was foul enough, why drag this out? Help us petition Lionsgate to send this idea to outer space, where it will be forgotten and no longer pondered about!
