We Demand that The Computer Learn Centres across Blackburn College are NOT closed to save money

Blackburn college attracts students with the following message...

"Here at Blackburn College we passionately believe in preparing learners for their future careers. We strive to arm our learners and staff with an array of transferable skills to promote lifelong learning.

With the ever increasing and rapid evolution of technological advancements, innovations and ultimately new challenges, a focus on lifelong learning is becoming ever more critical.

To support our staff and learners in this transition, a blended learning strategy has been developed in-house. It is a visual learning model that places the learner at the centre of all the College does"

BUT YET the decision has been taken by the College (on 22nd October 2014) to close ALL But One of the valuable I.T. Learn Centres currently available at Blackburn College.

In doing so this decision immediately deprives all students ( who were attracted to the college with the promise of First Class Computing Facilities that were claimed to be better than those available at other competing college's) of a vital technology resource for learning.

The loss of these College Learn Centres within each area of the college will impact on the Learning and Development of EVERY Student at the College.

Results and Grades WILL be affected by the loss of this vital Study facility.

YOUR Future success is at risk if your local learn Centre is taken away from you
