Surveillance for Social Fraternity and Sorority Events

When fraternities and sororities, otherwise known as "Greek" societies, recruit people, they promote kinship, career development, community service, and academic development. Yet, with constant news headlines of misdemeanor acts, many individuals including myself question if there is more that takes place during the social events of these organizations. Hazing behaviors such as alcohol consumption, humiliation, isolation, sleep deprivation, and sex acts are common practices across social fraternities and sororities. When will there be a stop to these heart-wrenching acts that leads to many deaths among students? This petition is to take a stand in proposing a need for surveillance for social events that takes place within these Greek organizations.
