Save Dronfield Fire Station

  • Dronfield Station is the best performing fire station in the whole of Derbyshire.
  • Up to 40,000 people living in and around Dronfield will have reduced fire cover.
  • 80% of Dronfield would not be covered in the 10-minute target.
  • Dronfield Woodhouse, Holmesfield and Coal Aston will be worst affected with fire crews taking longer to respond to emergency calls.
  • Dronfield is home to some risky and heavy industry.
  • Dronfield has one of the largest secondary schools in Derbyshire and another seven infant and junior schools.
  • The Dronfield  Fire Station is close to the railway line and the Dronfield bypass so our fire crews can respond quickly to major incidents.

Derbyshire Fire and Rescue are consulting on closing nine fire stations in total and Dronfield is one of them.

Dronfield’s Fire Station is the highest performing station in Derbyshire. It has protected our community for years. This is just a consultation at the moment, so make sure you make your views heard before 23 December 2013.

We need as many people as possible to tell Derbyshire Fire and Rescue that we want to keep our station open.
