China is sending us all their plastic junk for our landfills yet they ban plastic bags! Unbelieveable! In fact, probably 2/3 of the plastic bags we get at the grocery stores came from China! The USA needs to ban plastic bags in order to protect our environment from further harm. The time is now to start using re-useable bags to pack our groceries and to encourage retailers to stop the use of plastic bags entirely. I'm in my 50's and when I was a kid, all the bags were made from paper. In less than 50 years, we have made a horrible mess by introducing the use of plastic bags in our stores.

i don't understand why we cannot all use our own fabric bag, but to kill the environment with plastic.... if we start using our own bag, the world would be better, greener, cooler, no more global warming....

Plastic bags kill marine animals and birds and stay in the sea for many years

The time is now for us all to stand up and recognize our debt to the Earth and take responsibility for the ways in which we can begin to live in harmony with our environment.

Please join is in the fight to ban plastic bags. They are ruining our environment and harming our animals. Just using a cloth bag 5 times a week could save over 20,000 bags in our lifetime!

This is one of the worse things for our planet. Please stop using them now. Linda

BYOB! It is very simple for people to bring their own bag to the store. I have bought several from the grocery store I frequent for 99 cents each and keep them in my car. They hold 4 times more than a plastic bag! Let's get rid of these bags and help make the environment a better place!

There are so many plastic bags that can be reused over and over for years. We don't need to make more.

I come from France and they have already banned the plastic bags. You can have them at the grocery store but you have to pay for them. Most people just carry around big grocery bags that are actually easier to use as you can fill them up and have only a few bags to carry home instead of a million smaller and more fragile plastic bags.

There is a plastic wasteland in the Pacific ocean twice the size of Great Britain. Half of what you think is going into a landfill or recycle center actually ends up in the ocean where countless animals become victims. Plastic bags are unnecessary with the availablity of reusable materials. You can't rely on people to make the right decision when it comes to the health of our planet, so the easiest thing to do is not give them a choice. Ban plastic bags altogether.

Grocery stores are making it too easy now to purchase fabric shopping bags to use in place of plastic ones. Some also have recycling centers for the mountain of plastic bags you've already accumulated. If you're still using plastic bags, you're just plain lazy.

Bags absolutely should be banned - or if that is not possible then stores should charge for them - that would cause a lot of people to remember to reuse their bags
