Save the dogs at the CR 7250 puppy prison!

A dog "kennel" which looks to be more of a puppy mill has been exposed in Lubbock, Texas.  There are approximately 50 dogs there who are not being cared for properly under the state laws of Texas.  Laws require that dogs receive clean water and food daily and that their living area be kept clean.  They are also required to be vaccinated against rabies and other communicable diseases.  These dogs are receiving minimal care at the most.  This pictures was taken after the owner was forced to clean the stall by media exposure, but this is the exception.  We want to send a CLEAR message that this is not acceptable in our county and these dogs MUST be taken out of this situation.  Our county officials say that nothing can be done because no laws are being broken.  If that is true, this petition will also serve to alert our legislators and county commission that this needs to change IMMEDIATELY!
We the undersigned are calling for action in securing the safety of these animals who are being kept in the most deplorable conditions.  They have absolutely no protection from the heat and are not even receiving clean water as their water receptacles are caked with algae and are rarely, if ever cleaned appropriately.  Their living conditions are horrible and they are forced to live for days amid their own urine and feces.  This is all in heat upwards of 100 degrees on a regular basis.  Thank you so much for caring for animals and for helping us to put a stop to this.
