I am deeply opposed to the commercial and scientific whale hunts being conducted by Japan. Many species of whales are endangered and very close to becomming extinct.
Selling whale meat for consumption is as unsafe as it is cruel. Whale blubber is found to be contaminated with various halogenated-organic contaminants such as PCBs, DDT and brominated flame retardants. If someone ate a piece of whale blubber the size of a thumb, they would be dosing themselves many times over the advisory limits of some of the most toxic compounds known to humans!
Whaling for scientific reasons is also unjust. The research being collected can easily be found without killing the whale!
I understand that this letter won't change your mind immediately, but give it some thought and take time to realize the impact that you are having on the ocean. Not to mention present and future generations.

Whales are intelligent, beautiful mammals who are like us(in a way) They do nothing to harm us and they only love us. Whaling is cruel and unnecessary, and those poor whales can take up to a half an hour to die after being struck by the harpoon! And when being cut up there is still no way to tell if they are dead or alive! You wouldn't want to be in that sort of pain would you?!? So please stop whaling!

I am already doing alot to try and stop it, i made a petition, made a website, got my school involved and were doing a protest and gettin the local newspaper involved.
