I'm a ten year old with a passion for nature.Plastic bags should be banned because they're extremely harmful to the environment.There is a gigantic amount of garbage it the middle of the Pacific Ocean double the size of Texas called the Great Pacific Gyre ! A majority of the trash in the great Pacific Gyre is plastic such as water bottles and plastic bags. That's why we should ban plastic bags because they hurt the environment and they hurt thousands of animals a year.
Plastic bags are made from oil like petroleum which is a non-renewable resource. After a while the resource will be used up and there will be no more petroleum left.The amount of oil it takes to create one plastic bag can drive a car 115 meters.5 trillion bags are produced globally each year!
