Do you admire and value philanthropy? Do you respect philanthropists?

...company recently ceased pro bono training as it seemed unfair to the paying customers..

I recently respectfully applied for a pro bono enrolment in a training program. The internationally reknowned founder of the program replied saying the company had recently ceased pro bono enrolments as it seemed unfair to the paying customers.

With your help I plan to persuade this gentleman that pro bono work and philanthropy in general is admired and respected, valuable to humanity and even personally empowering to the giver.

Many of the paying customers he is concerned about would admire and support acts of philanthropy and those customers who do not admire such acts would benefit from this man's leadership in generosity.

I have not named this gentleman nor his company as I do not wish him any disrespect or embarrassment. I am hopeful that the number of signatures on this petition will encourage him to accept that many, many people respect and admire philanthropists, thus encouraging him to positively realign his philosophy.

I wish to see kindness. I hope this petition is assertive yet kind.

Dear Sir,

In reply to your email telling me of your company's cessation of pro bono enrolments due to unfairness to your paying customers I wish to show you a demonstration of numbers who disagree with your premise.

The attached petition shows the large number of signatures showing admiration, respect and value felt towards philanthropists. This level of support strongly indicates that your paying customers would in fact admire and/or benefit from any act of philanthropy you make.

Please reconsider your stance on pro bono enrolments and reinstate them as a regular practice. The global community benefits when you initiate "paying it forward".

Yours earnestly, Fiona
