Clothing Optional Beach on the Florida Panhandle

Whether you are nudist minded or not, there is a big benefit in having a clothing optional beach in THIS area. Tourist dollars is one factor, inexpensive, wholesome enjoyment is another. A third is the environmentally friendly aspect of such a designated area.

In other areas of Florida to the south there are a number of clothing optional beaches, a few of which are actually sanctioned, legal areas such as Haulover Beach. There is nothing within a 7 hour drive of the panhandle where nudist minded persons can enjoy a day at the beach, not bothering anyone, simply being nude in the body they were born in.

There is a great expanse of beach areas from Fort Walton over to Perdido Key that could allow for a small, say 1/4 mile section to be designated as a clothing optional area. It is proven that such areas boost tourist dollars in the local economy and do not add to any crime or instances of abusing the privilege.

A simple and financially beneficial option either Escambia or Santa Rosa counties could utilize would be to designate an area, set up simple signage indicating it is a clothing optional area, and access to the area and use of said area could be done on a small fee per day. A $5 dollar fee would generate some revenue and as the location grew in popularity, would also become yet another draw to our area. We have 2 nudist resorts just in Santa Rosa county alone but neither have beach access. There is nothing more wonderful than being able to swim, look for shells, sun etc without sand being stuck all in a bathing suit causing irritation, chafing and what not. In general, nudist persons are just like any other. They enjoy the same things, typically are of a high moral and ethical standard and are very respectful of everyone clothes or not. A petition was attempted a number of years ago but was never followed through on. There are enough local persons who would benefit from a clothing optional beach area and a great deal of influx as well would come from other areas surrounding the gulf coast.

For those who are opposed and who don't want to see nude persons, they simply would not go to that designated area, It's that simple.  Nude is not lewd. Anything can be made to be innappropriate. Do some research on nudist values and ethics and you will see that nudists are among the most family friendly people there are.
