Don't Kill Them! Adoptable Animals Deserve A Chance

Instances of putting down dogs and cats that were not sick or injured, not aggressive, not feral - in other words, animals adoptable as pets - have happened at Animal Control, the last such instance only last week. We call for the resignation and replacement of the current Director of Animal Control.
Further, we call for placement by the County of a sign near the entrance to the Animal Control facility where it will be seen by persons arriving with animals to be surrendered, advising that relinquishing animals to Animal Control may result in their prompt death if that facility does not have vacant kennels or cages to contain them. Paperwork signed by people relinquishing pets should also include this notification.
If you live in Greene County or the surrounding area, and if you reject the idea of killing healthy, adoptable animals, please sign our petition. We plan to submit this petition at a meeting scheduled for Thursday, October 8th, so we would appreciate your signature in support of our effort to keep adoptable dogs and cats alive.
