Drakes Estero is the ecological heart of Point Reyes National Seashore, just north of San Francisco, California.  The Estero is a natural sanctuary and human haven where the demands of urban life can recede and the opportunity can open for people to recontact their inner spirituality.  The Estero is a key harbor seal pupping area and a critical stop-over for thousands of migratory birds...however, this temple of nature and human spirituality is under attack.     

A commercial shellfish company is trying to force the Seashore to grant it a lease that would allow it to run thousands of noisy motor boats trips in the Estero.  In defiance of the Seashore's rules, the shellfish company is intentionally planting invasive species that threaten to change the integrity of the Estero forever.  And all this desecration is just so that the company can make money for itself.  

We are calling on spiritual leaders to join us in our effort to throw the moneychangers out of the temple.   We are asking the Dalai Lama to write to the Seashore in support of Drakes Estero remaining an un-commercialized human haven.   Please join us.
