start schools later to cut down on sleep deprivation

Sleep deprivation is something that a lotos people suffer from and don't understand the consequences of. It is every important that you get a good nights sleep in order to function the best way you can. Some of the short term consequences of sleep deprivation are decreased performance and alertness, memory and cognitive impairment, and more stress. Chronic sleep deprivation significantly affects your health, performance, and safety. Studies have shown that if long term sleep deprivation go untreated people can develop high blood pressure, heart failure, fetal and childhood growth retardation, and even obesity. If high school administrators start schools at 9:00AM more students will be able to get the eight hours of sleep they need to be able to perform their best. We must look out for the youth so they can have the best chance at succeeding in the future.
