Red Deer City Planning for Riverland’s on the south bank of the Red Deer river includes a ten story residence in the section west of the Quarry apartments and existing industrial buildings.

Westpark home owners in proximity to this section RW are alarmed such a development would both destroy this environmentally sensitive site and degrade the property values and quality of this wonderful community.

We request Council maintain the current 2-5 storey zoning in West Riverland’s site.

Re: Council's Zoning Review of Riverlands


 


Dear Sir or Madame:


 


Several home owners in proximity to the Riverlands site are concerned that Council is scheduled to consider a proposal to rezone this area that would permit a ten story residence directly below our homes.


 


We have concluded that the currently proposed Riverlands Development Plan, that appears to have been developed with undue haste, will destroy the western section of this environmentally sensitive site adjacent to our homes and negatively impact our community.


 


We request that Council defer its Riverlands rezoning discussion for at least a few months to enable all stakeholders to further define and refine their proposals and concerns.
