Tell Gov Kasich that Funding cuts are depriving our kids of a Free Public Education.

Why should Ohio's school children suffer at the hand of the government? Governor Kasich has already cut millions from the budgets of Ohio schools. Kasich claims that he is trying to reform Ohio's education system, when he says "Most districts are getting more than they deserve now, based on student enrollment. The Kasich plan gives those districts money anyway–but leaves the door open to eliminate that “extra” funding in the future." So if Ohio's schools have more money than they deserve then why are they threatening to cut library, music, and art funding, Our kids deserve to have these electives. (http://stateimpact.npr.org/ohio/2013/04/15/the-hidden-message-behind-ohio-school-funding-plans/) There are many benefits of having a music program for our children such as: music helps with language development, increases IQ, and helps develop spatial temporal skills, all which can help improve test scores.(http://www.pbs.org/parents/education/music-arts/the-benefits-of-music-education/) Some of the benefits of having an art curriculum for our children are; art can be very stimulating and can provide our children with a useful change of pace during the school day. Art can encourage students to think outside the classroom and help develop real world language and critical thinking skills, (http://www.teachingenglish.org.uk/article/art-classroom) Further cutting library funding will not only deprive all students access to reading and research materials, it will limit access to reading materials and services to Ohio's under privileged children who have no access to public library services. Please step up for our children. Tell Governor Kasich to stop cutting Ohio school budgets, in the end its our children who will suffer. We need to have our voice heard. "It takes a village (or state) to raise (and educate) a child.
