An issue in our modern society is the inhumanity of the death that we administer to animals that we deem pests. The right to a swift and painless death should be not a privilege but a right to all living things. The treatment I saw given to two raccoons was cruel and unjust. as the raccons were drowned in water they tried to escape, their paws grasping for purchase as the people around them watched with a morbid intent. The two struggled and panicked. To each of their deaths they were scared, helpless. I propose that animal pest controls companies and organisziaations are given the same serum that is administered to our beloved pets, for a quick and painless death. A right that should exist for all.
